What Actually Happens When We Come to Fix Your Phone
A lot of people aren't sure what to expect from a mobile repair visit. Here's the whole thing, start to finish.
We get this question pretty regularly: what does it actually look like when you come to fix something on-site? Is it awkward? Do I need to do anything? Where does the repair happen?
Fair questions. Here's the whole thing from start to finish.
Before we arrive
You've sent us a message — either through Facebook, by text, or by phone call. We'll ask what device you have, what the problem is, and roughly where you're located. We'll confirm we have parts in hand or can source them (we order parts per job rather than holding stock, so it's usually next-day delivery on common parts).
We agree on a time that works for you. Unlike a shop appointment, we're flexible — mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends. We'll confirm the day before and send a message when we're on the way.
When we arrive
We show up at your house, workplace, or wherever you prefer. We'll have our repair kit with us — it fits in a bag, not a van. We set up on a table or bench — a kitchen bench or dining table works fine — using a soft mat to protect your device and our workspace.
For something like a screen replacement on a common phone model, the repair itself takes 20–40 minutes. We work through it with the device in front of you if you'd like to watch, or we can work quietly while you get on with whatever you were doing.
What we check before we leave
Before we pack up, we run through a few things: screen responsiveness across the whole surface, front camera, speaker, Face ID or fingerprint scanner (whichever applies), and a brief charge test. We're not going to hand the phone back until we're satisfied it's working properly.
For bigger jobs — motherboard issues, water damage clean-ups, laptop work — we'll take the device back to our workshop and return it to you usually the next day.
Payment
Payment is at the end of the job. We'll have agreed on the price beforehand, so there are no surprises. We take most payment methods.
That's it. The idea is that it's easier than going to a shop, not harder. You stay home, we handle it.
